Common questions
Should I set a CPU limit?
Many teams set a memory limit but leave out the CPU limit, because CPU limits cause throttling even when the node has spare capacity. Always set a CPU request: the scheduler and the autoscaler both use it.
What is the difference between readiness and liveness probes?
A failing readiness probe takes the pod out of the Service so it gets no traffic. A failing liveness probe restarts the container. The generator points both at your health path, with the liveness probe starting later.
Do I need cert-manager for TLS?
The annotation asks cert-manager to issue a certificate into the -tls Secret. Without cert-manager, create that Secret yourself with kubectl create secret tls, or remove the annotation.
Is it safe to commit the Secret?
No. Kubernetes Secrets are only Base64-encoded. Keep them out of Git, or encrypt them with Sealed Secrets or SOPS, or load them with External Secrets.

No. The YAML is generated in your browser.
