Common questions
What size is an Indian passport photo?
35 mm wide by 45 mm high (3.5 × 4.5 cm), in colour, against a white or off-white background, with the face taking up most of the photo. Photos for an Indian visa or OCI are square, 2 × 2 inches (51 × 51 mm). A PAN card photo is 25 × 35 mm.
How do I print the photos?
Download the 4×6 inch sheet and print it as a regular 4×6 photo at any photo shop or kiosk, at "actual size" with no cropping or borders. Then cut along the grey lines. An A4 sheet works on a home printer if you set the scale to 100%.
My upload form says the file is too large. What should I do?
Type the form's limit into "Maximum file size", for example 50 or 100 KB, and download the photo again. The quality is lowered just enough to fit.
Can this change my background to white?
No. It crops and sizes your photo but does not edit the background, so take the picture against a plain white or light wall. Check your country's official rules before submitting, as some authorities reject edited photos.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The photo is processed in your browser and never leaves your device.
