chmod 775 (rwxrwxr-x)

The owner and group have full access, and others can read and run. The default for new directories when the umask is 002.

chmod 775 my-dir
# same thing in symbolic form:
chmod u=rwx,g=rwx,o=rx my-dir

In ls -l output, a file with this mode shows as -rwxrwxr-x and a directory as drwxrwxr-x.
