chmod 777 (rwxrwxrwx)

Everyone can read, write and run. Avoid it: any user or compromised process on the machine can change or replace the file.

chmod 777 my-file
# same thing in symbolic form:
chmod u=rwx,g=rwx,o=rwx my-file

In ls -l output, a file with this mode shows as -rwxrwxrwx and a directory as drwxrwxrwx.
